And rightly so, it is absolutely STUNNING!
The name…
The word, “Rondavel,” is a South African word that refers to a round hut-like dwelling, usually with a thatched roof. The three well known gigantic peaks of quartzite and shale with their sheer rock walls tower more than 700 meters above the surrounding landscape. These peaks are named after the three most troublesome wives of Chief Maripi Mashile. They are, from the left to right, Magabolle, Mogoladikwe and Maseroto.

Getting there.
The road leading up the the Three Rondavels is a very scenic one and the lookout point is a must see for anyone who is travelling past the area! Once you enter the gate, there is a short walk up to the point, perfect for nature lovers however, it might be difficult for the elderly or disabled.
There is a R30 entrance fee, but it is free for children. Make sure you go on a clear day so that you can get the full experience! It is also important to note that it can get very busy during the holiday times.
I hope you are well. I am mailing to acknowledge a really good guy that we came across when we were at the three rondavels, his name is Godwil. He explained to us the history of the three rondavels and surrounding areas with so much passion. He was really enjoying being on the job and eager to help. Such is never left unappreciated.
